Staff help individuals find and keep jobs – including individuals who are not be eligible for VR Supported Employment services but who are work ready.  Support may include interest/skills assessments, job exploration, help with interviewing, connection to natural supports, advocacy, consultation with employers, incentives to employers, benefits planning, and arranging transportation.

Boone County residents with intellectual/developmental disabilities who aspire to work in community-based jobs. Eligibility for Vocational Rehabilitation and/or BCFR may be required.

Individuals’ homes, agency offices and properties, public schools, businesses and other public places in the community.

Service provided around preferences and availability of participants.

Varies – based on needs identified in the individual plan and authorization for services, IPS fidelity standards, and associated work shifts or class schedules.

BCFR, Vocational Rehabilitation

There are no fees. This is an agency provided service.

Coordinators make referral based on expressed needs of individuals/families. Vocational Rehabilitation makes referral to IPS Supported Employment. Public Schools, Vocational Rehabilitation, service providers and others sometimes recommend referral.

BCFR services are direct services provided to individuals based on referral from the BCFR Family and Community Living Support Program. Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services are direct employment services provided to individuals based on a referral through VR.

Services may be delivered to individuals in Boone County or individuals transferring to Boone County via phone call, email, text, or video conference platforms such as MS Teams or Zoom
