Supported Living Team 16 threw a birthday party for Louise. Birthday parties aren’t new, but this was a big deal for Louise as she has traditionally declined such a gathering or celebration for herself.

“I’m not thrilled with parties. I usually don’t want anything,” said Louise. “They asked me what I wanted (this year), it was a spaghetti dinner. Usually, it’s just cupcakes.”

Even though Louise selected the birthday theme, she was surprised that every resident and staff working wanted to celebrate the big day with her. When asked how many years she was turning Louise was quick to respond, “When you get past a certain age you don’t count anymore.”
