Alicia started her journey with Boone County Family Resources 10 years ago as a Direct Support Professional. She has spent time volunteering help as needed on all of the supported living teams, and is currently at Team 260 as a Direct Support Professional II and paid neighbor. Alicia offers assistance, guidance and a neighborly hand to the individuals who live at the site. Her daily tasks may include grocery shopping, taking individuals to appointments, providing cooking instructions and generally helping individuals make their own choices, big and small, to be productive in everyday life.

Alicia is the longest standing team member at her site. Her experience and knowledge of the team, its history, and the individuals served has made her an invaluable team member. Alicia continually steps up to offer insight, help with training and act as a mentor to incoming coworkers. Alicia is also greatly enjoyed by the individuals she supports and is known for her bright personality, infectious laughter, optimistic outlook and caring nature. When she isn’t hard at work, Alicia spends time with her dog, Ernie; two cats Fitz and Rowan; and tending to her vibrant plant life.

We are so grateful to have a positive, hard-working and caring team member who not only works at BCFR, but calls it home for so many years. Thank you for enriching the lives of individuals with disabilities, and the staff around you Alicia!
