Affordable Housing Project Making Great Progress

Individuals and families interested in living in an apartment in either Boone Point South or Boone Point Central took a big step at the end of June when the Application Workshop was held. More than 50 applications were received and are being processed. Applications for initial consideration were received by noon on June 29. Additional applications may still be submitted but will be considered after the initial applications are processed. Boone Point South

Boone Point South, located on Apple Tree Lane, was considered 71% complete on July 10, with pavement complete, painting, and installation of cabinets and flooring proceeding. The 15-unit apartment building is located in the Cedar Lake Subdivision with pedestrian-friendly access to public transportation and Cedar Lake Association privileges. Four of the apartments will be fully accessible.

Boone Point Central

Boone Point Central, located on St. Joseph Street, was estimated on July 10 to be 65% complete with siding installation set to begin and interior drywall well under way. The 13-unit apartment building is located in the historic North Village neighborhood with easy access to public transportation and Columbia’s vibrant downtown district. Four of the apartments will be fully accessible.

The Open House celebration is being planned for a date in the fall and further details will be forthcoming as occupation begins. Watch for the dates, times and more information.
