Full-time employees of Boone County Family Resources enjoy a comprehensive benefits package

Employee Health, Dental and Vision Insurance

Full-time employees qualify for major medical, prescription, dental, and vision insurance. The effective date of your coverage will be the first of the month following the date of your application. Coverage will not begin until you have completed and submitted the required forms.

Employee Assistant Program (EAP)

Employees regularly schedule to work 20 or more hours a week, qualify for the EAP with WorkLifeMatters through Guardian. This confidential service is available for employees who may need support with life challenges. WorkLifeMatters provides support and guidance for matters that range from personal issues, to providing information on everyday topics that affect your life.

Vacation & Holidays

Upon providing service, a full-time employee begins accruing vacation leave. Vacation may be taken after successful completion of the introductory period. Full-time employees also are awarded one personal holiday (eight hours) per calendar year after completion of the initial introductory period. This personal holiday must be used by December 31 of each calendar year. It does not carry over to the next calendar year, and must be used in a consecutive eight-hour period.

Sick & Personal Leave

Each full-time staff member shall receive eight hours sick leave credit for each month of service.

Direct Deposit

Payroll checks can be electronically deposited into a designated bank account through Paylocity. An employee’s last paycheck will not be directly deposited.

Life Insurance

BCFR provides $50,000 of Term Life insurance to all full-time employees. There is an option for employees to purchase additional life insurance at the expense of the employee.

LAGERS Retirement Plan

The plan has a five-year vesting schedule. BCFR contributes to the plan and there is a mandatory 4% employee contribution. Employee must be employed six months and regularly work a minimum of 1,000 hours per year. The plan also provides for long term disability benefits.

Cafeteria Benefits (125 Plan)

This plan utilizes the use of pre-tax dollars for eligible benefits such as dependent care, medical expenses, and dental, vision, and health insurance. Medical costs are not covered if covered by your health care plan. Expenses and insurances run through the cafeteria plan are not eligible to also be claimed on the employees’ personal taxes.

Deferred Compensation (457 Plan)

The deferred compensation plan is a voluntary supplemental long-term retirement program. Deferred compensation can be substituted in lieu of social security under this plan. Employees may self-direct their pre-tax contributions as long-term investments in lieu of social security following completion of six months of service. Employees may also elect to make post-tax Roth deferral contributions, where the earnings grow tax-fee after a participation period of five years.

Professional Development

Staff training and conferences are available throughout employment. Supplemental training ensures the highest quality personnel and with approval is provided at the expense of BCFR.
