In celebration of 50 years of service and support for individuals with developmental disabilities in Boone County, Boone County Family Resources (BCFR) invites artists of all backgrounds and abilities to submit artwork for a collaborative community art project.

We are seeking digital submissions of original artwork that reflect themes of community, inclusion, support, growth and belonging. Selected works will be incorporated into a large-scale, paneled collage to be displayed at Boone County Family Resources as a tribute to our shared commitment to inclusion, opportunity and connection.

Key Details:

  • Submission Deadline: November 30, 2025
  • Unveiling Date: April 23, 2026 at the BCFR 50th Anniversary Celebration
  • Submission Format: All artwork should be submitted digitally
  • Additional Materials Required:
    • A high-resolution image of the artwork
    • An artist headshot (optional)
    • A brief artist bio (may be shared online or in print materials)

Eligibility Notice:
This contest is open to all ages. However, participants under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to participate. By submitting the form below, you confirm that you are either 18 or older, or have obtained permission from a parent or legal guardian.

About the Selection Process:
Submissions will be reviewed by a committee including members of the BCFR Board of Directors and North Village Arts District artist Tootie Burns. Selected works will be combined into collaborative panel designs that reflect the spirit of this important milestone.

Final Display:
All selected artwork will become part of a paneled collage on display at Boone County Family Resources. The completed work will be unveiled at the 50th Anniversary Celebration on April 23 and shared with the community.

Submission Guidelines:
Artwork must be made recently and submitted digitally. By submitting your artwork, you agree to the following:

  • You affirm that the submitted artwork is your original work and that you hold all rights to it.
  • You grant Boone County Family Resources (BCFR) a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual and irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, combine with other works and display your artwork:
    • As part of the paneled collage installed at BCFR
    • In promotional materials, publications and exhibits (print and digital)
    • On BCFR’s website, social media and other public platforms
    • Selected works may be edited, cropped, resized or incorporated into larger collaborative designs at BCFR’s discretion.
