Boone County Family Resources was created to help provide solutions to the challenges that people with disabilities and their families face every day. For more than twenty-seven years, our friends and neighbors have referred people for help.
We support people where they reside and work. We help persons with developmental disabilities of all ages improve their functioning and self sufficiency. If you know someone that needs our help, please share with them how to contact us.
Developmental Disability
Developmental Disability is defined in state statute and Federal Medicaid regulations.* Eligibility is determined by the Missouri Department of Mental Health. Eligible persons served must:● Have a developmental disability:
Mental or Physical Impairment**
Happens while developing (before age 22)
Results in major difficulties with two or more of the following:
- Walking
- Talking
- Self Care
- Self Direction
- Learning
- Living independently
- Getting and keeping a job
Is lifelong or extended duration
Requires individually planned and coordinated services and assistance
